JUNIOR EDITORS TEST — JEWELLERY BUSINESS INTERVIEW (READ CAREFULLY)

Introduction (why + how long + usage)
We’re hiring two roles: Junior Short-Form Editor and Junior Long-Form Editor. Instead of relying on mixed-quality portfolios, we want to see how you handle real footage: a jewellery business owner’s talking-head interview plus B-roll.
Why: We’re assessing story sense, pacing, captions/graphics, audio, color, and file hygiene.
Time guidance: Aim to complete one task in 2–4 hours (short-form) or 4–6 hours (long-form). If you need longer, keep it focused and professional.
Usage/rights: Footage is for this test only. Do not post publicly. You may not use any part in a portfolio without our written permission. Delete within 14 days unless we progress your application.
Important: Treat each task as a separate application. You may submit Short-Form, Long-Form, or both. It’s not expected that you complete both—they are different jobs.

Deadline - 7th November 2025

TASK A — SHORT-FORM EDIT (TikTok/Reels/Shorts)

Objective: Create a 30–45s vertical (9:16) video that hooks viewers fast and drives interest in the founder’s jewellery brand.
Audience: Non-marketer consumers and casual scrollers.
Tone: Warm, confident, premium, clear.

What to include
Hook (first 2–3s): Lead with the strongest benefit/insight/visual (not a logo sting).
Captions: Burned-in, high-contrast, sentence-case; highlight 2–4 keywords per line. Provide SRT as well.
B-roll coverage: Use product close-ups, hands-on-bench, store details to cover jump cuts.
Branding: End-card with logo and simple CTA (“Discover the collection”).
Sound: Clean dialogue, subtle SFX/music (music ducked under VO). Target –14 LUFS integrated.
Color: Natural skin tones; subtle contrast; no heavy LUTs.

Deliverables (name exactly)

  1. SF_Main_YourName.mp4 — 1080×1920, 25 fps, H.264, target 8–12 Mbps

  2. SF_Captions_YourName.srt

  3. (Optional) SF_Thumb1_YourName.jpg (1080×1920)

Submission
Share a view/download link (Drive/Dropbox) to your files. In your notes, include: your hook rationale (2–3 sentences) and tools used.

TASK B — LONG-FORM EDIT (YouTube/Website Feature)

Objective: Craft a 5–7 min 16:9 story from the interview + B-roll that explains:
Problem (why her brand exists) → Approach (craft/process/values) → Outcome (what customers get) → Next Step (soft CTA).

Audience: Viewers considering a premium, artisan jewellery purchase; partners/press.
Tone: Polished, credible, not salesy.

What to include
Structure: Subtle chapter cards or tasteful lower-thirds to mark sections.
Interview trims: Remove ramble; front-load a strong mini-hook (10–15s).
B-roll: Cover every cut; product and workshop details; gentle moves/zooms on stills/screen captures if needed.
Graphics: Simple name/lower-thirds for the founder; one elegant animated title; branded end-slate with soft CTA.
Audio: Dialogue cleanup (NR, de-ess), consistent levels; tasteful music bed. Target –16 to –14 LUFS integrated.
Color: Consistent WB, matched shots; preserve skin tones; mild filmic contrast.

Deliverables (name exactly)

  1. LF_Main_YourName.mp41920×1080 (or 3840×2160), 25 fps, H.264, target 12–20 Mbps (1080p) / 25–40 Mbps (4K)

  3. (Optional) LF_Teaser_YourName.mp430–45s trailer (9:16 or 16:9)
